Acme Electric is a full line manufacturer of low voltage (600 V and below) dry type distribution transformers using both copper and aluminum conductor, offering an array of products between 0.50-1000 KVA.
Acme's product offering covers the full spectrum of applications, from commercial general power distribution and high harmonic conditions to specific industrial motor drive/factory automation systems, to low voltage landscape lighting applications. All Acme products are designed, constructed and rated to meet or exceed the standards established by UL, CSA, CE, NEMA, ANSI and IEEE.
REX DRY TYPE POWER TRANSFORMERS are primarily designed for stepping down high voltages from transmission and distribution systems to common voltages in commercial, industrial, institutional or utility applications. They are ideally suited for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Dry Type Power Transformers require minimum maintenance to provide many years of reliable trouble free service. Unlike liquid fill transformers which are cooled with oil or fire resistant liquid dielectric, dry type units utilize only environmentally safe, CSA and UL recognized high temperature insulation systems. Every dry type design provides a safe and reliable power source which does not require fire proof vaults, catch basins or the venting of toxic gasses. These important safety factors allow the installation of dry type transformers inside buildings close to the load, which improves overall system regulation and reduces costly secondary line losses.

According to the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), energy generation and distribution has become a major cause of pollution. Increasing electrical equipment efficiency has become an important part of the solution. Certain states within the USA have adopted Energy Star® standards to NEMA TP-1 levels and testing. More states are likely to adopt these standards as pollution and energy costs increase. Hevi-Duty offers a broad range of high efficiency transformers, including a new line of Energy Star® rated transformers.
Hevi-Duty makes it easy to meet these standards with its E versions of Low Voltage General Purpose transformers. These transformers meet strict efficiency standards as proposed by NEMA TP-1, yet are the same compact size as the basic Hevi-Duty LVGP unit so floor space is not comprised. The efficiencies of these transformers are optimized to meet NEMA TP-1 limits for the load losses calculated at 35% of the name plate rating. This 35% represents an industry average load of most LVGP transformers.
Available in single phase from 15 KVA to 167 KVA, and three phase voltages from 15 KVA to 500 KVA, and meet the high quality and construction of Hevi-Duty LVGP products.
